GMAIL

Why is a search company goes for a free email account? and Why is MSN & Hotmail is going for a search engine? to understand their move, it is complex. but for now, it is time for google to offer email.

Hello!! dont get surprised!! it is true. Google is looking at a email option called GmailAbout Gmail

So why google is to offer a email account and what makes it different?

Going by their faqs, this is what they say about...

"Gmail uses Google search technology to automatically organize and find messages. And because Gmail includes 1,000 megabytes of storage, a typical user won't ever have to worry about deleting mail. Everything just gets archived so it can be found again if needed.

There are other differences in the way Gmail provides access to your email. For example, Gmail automatically groups an email and the replies to it as a conversation. Gmail's other distinctive features include a labeling system, a spam reporter and a system for filtering your mail as it comes into your inbox."

The interesting part of their offering is the size of the email box.

"Gmail is a free service and includes 1,000 megabytes (1 GB boss) of storage with each account.."

Just in case if this goes in public, and if the regular users of google is going to utilise this service, then just calculate the amount of space required for servicing the entire user list. Surely, there will be a plan behind this, but for now, wait till it goes public.
